Designing Desktop Vibes

One of my latest projects just launched a few days ago. Called Desktop Vibes, the site is a technology blog managed by my blogger friend Glenn Wolsey. Knowing Glenn from MacApper really made this project rather enjoyable. On the technical side of things, it wasn’t too bad (mockups in Photoshop, coding using Coda and FTP transfers with CyberDuck).

As always, web development is a never-ending journey. You may think you know everything, but as it is, you’ll always learn something new with each project. I’m pleased that in the process of building the ‘Vibes, I’ve managed to do things quicker and to simplify my workflow. Though I did not use any new or exciting technology, I guess being more efficient is still equally as exciting. In a way.

What’s next? I’m not saying anything, but something exciting is certainly coming down the tubes. That’s all I’m going to say. You can read more about Desktop Vibes from within my portfolio, or click through to visit the site.

Really nice design! Great job. Where did you find the wood background pattern?

Actually the pattern was provided by Glenn. Glenn gave me some idea of what he wanted, and I worked from there.
